Veteran educator selected as grand marshall for Ashdown High’s homecoming activities

A 47-year teacher will be honored as the grand marshal of the Ashdown, Ark., High School homecoming Friday.

Mary Murphy Coulter Cauthron will lead the parade at 2 p.m. Friday.

The teacher, who served from 1965 to 2008, will also crown the Ashdown High School homecoming queen before the football game between the Panthers and the Waldron Bulldogs.

Cauthron is a 1954 Ashdown High School graduate and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1958.
