Cases of girls removed from compound go to court starting Friday

Court orders continuing state custody of six girls removed Saturday from the Tony Alamo Christian Ministries compound in Fouke, Ark., were signed late Tuesday evening by a circuit judge serving Miller County.

“Based on the allegations of abuse or neglect in the petition ... the circuit court determined that the immediate removal of the juveniles from parental or custodial care was necessary to protect their health, safety and physical well being,” said a press release issued by Circuit Judge Jim Hudson of the 8th Judicial District South, which serves Miller and Lafayette counties. ...
