A man who gave authorities a fake address when he got out of prison for a sex offense has pleaded guilty to violating federal sex offender registration laws.

Harold Wayne Lewis, 66, appeared Thursday morning with his attorney, Craig Henry of Texarkana, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Caroline Craven. Lewis pleaded guilty to traveling in interstate commerce while failing to register as a sex offender.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise Simpson is prosecuting Lewis.
