A total of 403 out of 19,670 Texarkana Independent School District registered voters cast early ballots in the rollback election to raise salaries, a district official said Thursday. Early voting closed Tuesday.

“We’re very pleased with the voter turnout that we’ve seen so far,” said Superintendent James Henry Russell. “Obviously, there is a lot of awareness of the election.”
