The CHRISTUS St. Michael Friends of the Foundation Great Texarkana Duck Race is waddling around the corner.

The event is set to take place at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 4 at the Lake Wright Patman Spillway.

Ducks are still available for adoption and could win their owners one of several prizes, including the grand prize of a 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS. People can adopt ducks for $5 each.

Each duck is numbered and the person who adopts it will receive a corresponding adoption number. The first one across the finish line wins the prize.
