Construction of the proposed John W. Turk Power Plant in Hempstead County, Ark., remains a commitment for Southwestern Electric Power Co. officials despite a state commission recommending an eight-year project delay.

But Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe on Tuesday was unsure what authority the Governor’s Commission on Global Warming has in its recommendation.

“... We will take all of the recommendations (from state agencies and commissions) ... and look at them before making a decision about a recommendation,” said Beebe.
