Three Southwest Arkansas law enforcement officers were honored Tuesday by the Arkansas Attorney General for valor and extraordinary job performance for their work on a homicide investigation where the suspect shot one of the officers.

During the exchange of gunfire, the officers fatally shot the suspect, who “was responsible for at least two home invasion murder/robberies in Southwest Arkansas,” said Lt. Glenn C. Sligh, commander of Company C Criminal Investigation Division of the Arkansas State Police.
