More crime leads to more time

Two inmates to serve additional sentences

Two men have been sentenced to additional prison time for crimes they committed while serving sentences for other offenses.

When 27-year-old James Reid walked off the recreation yard at the Southwest Arkansas Community Corrections Center in July in Texarkana, Ark., he got less than a block before being returned to custody.

“Mr. Reid, here’s the sad question,” said Miller County Circuit Judge Jim Hudson as Reid stood before him with his defense attorney, Jason Mitchell.

“How much time did you have left on your sentence when you escaped?”
