Pleasant Grove Independent School District broke ground on a $10.5 million intermediate school Thursday morning amid the support of 200 well-wishers and students.

“Since voters passed the bond issue last year, we have spent the last year planning and designing our new school,” Superintendent Margaret Davis told the crowd standing near the administrative building on the 54 acres of adjacent land on which the school will be built.

Pleasant Grove voters passed a large bond election in May 2007 to fund several projects in the district including the new school.
