Voting for Pleasant Grove Independent School District’s rollback election opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. today at the high school, 5406 McKnight Road.

Superintendent Margaret Davis said Pleasant Grove is asking for a pay increase for teachers and librarians—raising beginning salaries from $28,320 a year to $30,320.

If approved by voters, the proposed 5-cent increase would bring Pleasant Grove’s current property tax rate of $1.39 per $100 valuation to $1.44 per $100 valuation. Under the current tax homeowners will pay $695 on a house valued at $50,000 and $496.50 ...
