Johnson Controls wants to turn the Miller County Courthouse into a “smart building.”

Miller County recently signed a “memorandum of understanding” with Johnson Controls to do an energy audit of the courthouse and county-owned buildings to find ways to conserve energy and reduce costs.

“They will look at the county property and give us a cost estimate to save energy. If the cost savings are implemented, the county should be able to recover the costs in so many years,” said District 4 Justice of the Peace Haze Hudson, who suggested the proposals.
