Rick Perry signed Senate Bill 7 on Sept. 5, 2007, which states that each school district would be required to make at least one automated external defibrillator available at each campus in the district; an AED must be readily available at every University Interscholastic League athletic competition held on campus; and each district would have to ensure that at least one employee trained with the AED was present at any time a substantial number of students was present at a location.
