Five young men pleaded guilty to a long list of felonies Tuesday before receiving a promise from the judge who sentenced each to probation.

“Don’t get in any more trouble or you can pack your bags,” Circuit Judge Kirk Johnson said in an unmistakable tone.

Johnson sentenced each of the men, some of whom were only 17 when they pilfered cars and residences in the Sugar Hill area of Texarkana, Ark., to serve six years’ probation on each of 13 felony counts.
