An alarm will be installed in the Fouke, Ark., City Hall to protect against burglaries, city officials decided during Thursday’s city council meeting.

The council questioned Fouke Mayor Terry Purvis about the Sept. 18 burglary where $442 in cash was stolen from the city’s safe inside city hall.

Councilman Philip McFerrin said the information about the burglary needs to discussed.

Purvis said the building was entered through a back window and the city’s safe was unlocked by the burglar.
