Rising resource costs leads Bowie County court to rethink revenue stream
The recent skyrocketing cost of oil, asphalt and other oil-based products persuaded the Bowie County Commissioners Court to pursue another revenue stream Tuesday.
During the meeting, commissioners agreed to pursue a Rural Road Partnership Program with any county residents interested in participating. The program allows for property owners and residents along low traffic volume county roads to donate money to the upkeep of the unpaved roadways, while the county would contribute the labor and equipment.
