Local Latino and other students were encouraged Wednesday to set their sights on higher education.

With the theme “Engage Latino Students for Higher Education,” the focus for the Texas A&M University-Texarkana’s Hispanic Heritage celebration was clear. Two Hispanic students spoke about their experiences in Texarkana with hopes of engaging about 100 students from Texas and Pleasant Grove school districts to dream of a life with a college education.
