Texarkana’s Amtrak station will remain a staffed station, said Marc Magliari, a Chicago-based media relations manager for Amtrak.

“The Texarkana station will be staffed as well as before. We may have some interruption when Mr. (M.E.) Hogue retires and when we hire an agent. We will advertise for the position and hire an agent,” said Magliari.

“This is good news. We want to convey the message to the elected officials who expressed concern about not having the Texarkana station staffed,” he said.
