Texarkana, Ark., School District Interim Superintendent Russell Sapaugh reported a decline in enrollment in the 2008-2009 school year Tuesday during a regular board meeting.

Sapaugh said the current enrollment of 4,353 is down by 74 students, suggesting that private schools with athletics, transfers to neighboring school districts and homeschooling could be the cause.
