The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 278 will host the 20th anniversary of the downtown Texarkana Korean-Vietnam Memorial at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial, which is at West Seventh Street and North State Line Avenue.

The public event will focus on honoring and remembering local men and women whose names are engraved upon the brick memorial.

The project, which started in 1987, became complete in 1988, once the city turned the project over to VVA 278. Much of the building material was contributed by Ken Stewart’s Memorial Arts.
