Dr. Meliss Vessier-Batchen is evidence of the versatility available in the nursing profession.

Whether a nurse is interested in saving lives in high-pressure emergency rooms, becoming a nurse educator or a forensic nurse, there is a branch of nursing to fit the interest.

Brought in to help institute Texas A&M University-Texarkana’s graduate nursing program, Vessier-Batchen has a varied background in nursing including a certification as a forensic nurse death investigator, a field she worked in for six years in St. Tammany Parish in Louisiana.
