The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Millwood Lake recently sponsored a deer hunt for young hunters to teach safe hunting practices.

The nine hunters were selected in a random drawing and the hunters harvested six deer, including four 8-point bucks, one 4-point buck, and one spike buck.

“The goal was to expose the young hunters to the outdoors and teach them safe hunting practice and principles,” said Derick Walker, a spokesman for the Corps of Engineers.
