A longtime Texarkana couple was killed Friday in a multiple-vehicle accident near Buffalo, Texas, when their 2001 Toyota was struck head-on by another vehicle, according to news accounts.

Glenn Johnson, former Texarkana Country Club manager, and his wife, Judie, a former school teacher, were driving northbound on U.S. Highway 79 when a southbound pickup truck driven by Jerry Ansley of Atoka, Okla., crossed over the center line and hit the couple’s vehicle head on, according to the Palestine Herald-Press.

The Johnsons, both 70, were pronounced dead at the scene.
