An icy bridge contributed to a one-vehicle rollover that killed a Dierks, Ark., man early Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 71 south of Lockesburg, Ark.

Brian Scott Stapp, 23, of Dierks was pronounced dead at the scene by Sevier County Deputy Coroner Ronald Williams at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, said Arkansas State Police Trooper J.D. Jones.

Stapp was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger southbound on U.S. Highway 71 on the Bellville Creek bridge, about one mile south of Lockesburg, when he apparently lost control of the pickup.

The road was icy, Jones said.
