Construction program helps youth build better future

After a successful first year, YouthBuild Texarkana is gearing up for its second cycle.

Thirteen young men and women graduated from the program in November, taking with them education and job training they can use in the future. The program targets the 18 to 24 age group and offers a chance to acquire a GED and construction skills.

YouthBuild coordinator Linda Mack said the program gives young people a chance to be productive in society—a chance they may not have had otherwise.
