Something as simple as a tag on a collar can be the difference between a beloved pet finding its way back home or ending up in a shelter, with another family or worse.

“Statistically it’s like 95 percent of animals lost with a tag are returned to their owner and 95 percent of ones without one never find their way home,” said Donna Hinkle, Animal Care and Adoption Center of Texarkana, Ark., director. “That’s a pretty huge statistic when you think about it.”
