Man ruled not fit to stand trial in deaths of parents


SCOGGINS
A man accused of capital murder for the slayings of his mother and stepfather in August told a circuit judge Monday he doesn’t believe they are dead.

“How can I be charged with capital murder when Al and Sandra Walsh are alive and doing fine?” asked Bronson Scoggins at a pretrial hearing before Circuit Judge Joe Griffin. “The bruises are gone. We did rerun.”

Griffin ruled that Scoggins was not currently fit to proceed to trial and ordered he be committed to the Arkansas State Hospital. A status hearing on the case was scheduled for April.
