Two men accused of committing murders last year in Bowie County appeared for pretrial hearings Monday.

Although both men share the same last name, they and their alleged crimes are unrelated.

Austin Kyle Davis, 22, is accused of shooting Beau Watty Gibson Sept. 22 at the Woodlands II Apartments on College Drive in Texarkana, Texas. If convicted of murder, Davis faces five to 99 years or life in a Texas prison.

“You’re honor, I still haven’t gotten any discovery in this case,” said Davis’ public defender Rick Shumaker to 202nd District Judge Leon F. Pesek Jr....
