A truck burns on the northbound side of U.S. Highway 71 across from H&N Landscaping and Nursery. The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office and Pleasant Grove and Red Lick-Leary volunteer fire departments responded to the call around noon Wednesday. Campco employees were driving along the highway laying down pipes for a sewage line when the truck got stuck. The driver left the engine running as he went to get a nearby backhoe to free the truck, and as he returned, he smelled smoke.
