Man pleads guilty in murder conspiracy

Affidavit: Mercury-filled syringe was to be used to kill a confidential informant

A suspect will testify against two other suspects charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in an alleged scheme involving injecting an informant with mercury.

In a plea bargain agreement, Clifford Hill, 43, of De Queen, Ark., pleaded guilty recently to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and was sentenced to 22 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.

He pleaded guilty in exchange for his testimony against Robert Brown and Lori Brown, said 9th Judicial District Prosecutor Bryan Chesshir.
