A weight loss project at North Height Junior High School has several Texarkana residents seeing green.

Three students from NHJH’s Environmental and Spatial Technology class are working on a project called “Promoting A Healthier Texarkana.” They have recruited more than 100 residents who will compete in hopes of winning a prize of $500.

The idea is the brainchild of EAST students Morgan Ford, Ashley Brown and Alex Cowling. The students selected the project for a March EAST competition in Hot Springs, Ark., where they will present the results.
