Monday will be the first day to file for a place on the ballot in local school board elections.

Texans wishing to run in Bowie County should visit local school administration offices. Filing ends March 9.

The election is May 9 and there will be seats open at Pleasant Grove, Texarkana, Liberty-Eylau and Red Lick school districts. Texarkana College will not have an election this year.

The PGISD board will have two slots open. The seats held by Kathleen Young, Place 6, and Jay Davis, Place 7, are up for three-year terms.
