Locals celebrate Black History Month

Day filled with events across town; parade draws large crowd

Spring-like temperatures helped Texarkana kick off the Twin City Black History Association’s 18th annual celebrations Saturday with a day packed with festivities.

Onlookers lined the streets for a downtown parade with Texas-side City Manager Larry Sullivan as grand marshal and about 90 participating organizations .
