Wake Village panel sets city election date

The Wake Village City Council agreed Monday to set May 9 as the city’s municipal election date.

The mayor’s position, along with council places 1 and 2, will be up for challenge.

The positions are held by Mike Huddleston, Ernestine King and Cheryl Collum, respectively.

In other business, the council agreed to allow Wake Village resident Bruce Dinsmore Sr. to build a carport on his property.
