$16,000 in grants awarded to innovative TISD teachers

The Texarkana Public Schools Foundation “Grant Patrol” presented $16,000 in grants to TISD teachers.

In all, 32 teachers received $500 each in annual grants that assist teachers to develop innovative programs to promote student achievement.

Receiving money for classroom activities were Morriss Elementary’s Melanie Allen for “Zoom Through Math with “ZOME;” Erin Davis for “Tower of Power;” Amy Frierson for “Metric Madness;” Barbara Fugitt for “Lego Structures;” and Lea Metcalf for “What Will the Weather Be Like Today?”
