The De Queen & Eastern Railroad Co. and the City of Lockesburg have “reached an amicable settlement” of $350,000 for a bridge damaged during a June 2005 derailment.

The railroad company will pay Lockesburg $350,000 for the destruction of the bridge.

“We deeply regret any inconvenience caused to the city and its citizens due to the derailment. It is certainly not something we anticipated,” said Randy Siebert, the railroad manager.
