One day after the filing deadline for municipal candidates in the May 9 election, it looks like Wake Village and Nash won’t have any contested elections.

Municipal records for both cities show that of the two open Nash City Council seats, no one filed to challenge incumbent John Watwood for Place 2 or incumbent Robert Bunch for Place 3.
