IDABEL, Okla.—A man arrested March 11 in connection with two bank robberies has died after becoming ill in the McCurtain County jail, authorities said.

Matthew Allen Nanez, 24, was pronounced dead at shortly after midnight Sunday at McCurtain Memorial Hospital after being transported to the hospital from the jail by EMS ambulance.

“It doesn’t appear to be foul play in the prisoner’s death,” said George McFarland, agent in charge for the southeast region of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
