Opening arguments and witness testimony began late Monday afternoon in the trial of a man accused of raping a woman he followed home from Walmart last July Fourth.

Myka Brandon Talley is facing seven counts of rape and a single count of kidnapping. If convicted, each charge is punishable by 10 to 40 years or life in an Arkansas prison.

“What you’ll hear is that Mr. Talley raped her, then he raped her and he raped her and he raped her and he raped her and he raped her and he raped her again,” said Deputy Prosecutor Katie Carter in an opening statement.
