Wake Village students race to sharpen their math skills

To sharpen math skills and learn about business, third- and fifth-graders at Wake Village Elementary School participated Friday in the Amazing Race.

Forty students, grouped in teams of eight, ran or walked briskly from business to business in Wake Village’s circle on Redwater Road to answer word problems in hopes of finishing first.

When fifth-grade students Cole Nichols and Timothy Campbell finished the first two challenges at Graham Crackers Children Consignment & Resale, they were a bit apprehensive of the final challenge.
