4 injured in series of mishaps on U.S. Highway 82

Red Lick/Leary Fire Department personnel remove the driver of a black Cadillac after he flipped his car into a ditch Saturday afternoon on U.S. Highway 82 between Burger Road and Waller Street. Three wrecks occured within 10 miles of each other on Highway 82 Saturday afternoon and alcohol may have been involved in some, police said.

Local authorities worked three unrelated wrecks Saturday on U.S. Highway 82 within about a 30-minute span.

A total of five vehicles were involved and authorities said alcohol may have been a factor in at least one of the wrecks.

The first accident occurred at the intersection of 82 and Farm to Market Road 3419. Authorities said a white truck rear-ended a red Ford F-150 pulling a trailer loaded with two all-terrain vehicles.
