Bowie County is said to be a prime location for a first-of-its-kind innovation in transportation—automated freight rail.

“Texarkana could see, in the not-too-distant future, very robust freight shuttle guideways, transportation hubs and ports,” said Dr. Steve Roop, assistant director at Texas Transportation Institute, an affiliate of the Texas A&M University System.
