Texarkana, Texas, Police Department investigators suspected a thief was after the copper tubing inside window air-conditioning units when thefts of them were reported in Bowie County last fall, according to an arrest affidavit.

In September, a unit was reported stolen from a lawyer’s office on Summerhill Road in Texarkana, Texas. From the few parts left at the scene, officers were able to recover a single fingerprint, the affidavit said.

In October, the Center West Baptist Church in Wake Village reported the loss of a window unit air conditioner as well.
