STORM RECOVERY: Dierks residents receive water via bottles, fire hoses

The City of Dierks, Ark., is living the proverb “You don’t miss the water till the well runs dry.”

Residents have rearranged their habits to get by with the limited water flow into Dierks after a Thursday tornado knocked out the water treatment plant 4 miles west of town. The EF3 tornado blew off the second floor of the water treatment plant, which contained controls to the computers and the equipment used to treat and transfer the water to the city.
