Arkansas asks for federal help for tornado survivors

FEMA trailers not a preferred option

Some Arkansas officials would rather get federal housing assistance for regional storm victims instead of the FEMA trailers stored near Hope.

District 21 State Rep. Steve Cole, D-Lockesburg, asked the U.S. government this week for help housing the families in Sevier County whose homes were lost or made uninhabitable last week.

Cole is working with Sevier County Judge Dick Tallman, who is asking for housing assistance for 32 families hit by the April 9 tornado in Sevier County.
