R.K. Hall Construction LTD of Paris, Texas, was awarded a $589,575.29 contract to resurface about 2 miles of U.S. Highway 82 in Miller and Lafayette counties.

The Arkansas Highway Commission recently awarded the low bid, said Carl Rosenbaum, commission chairman.

“This resurfacing project will be located in the vicinity of the Red River,” Rosenbaum said.

Construction should start within six to eight weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected by Aug. 3.
