An appeals court has upheld the capital murder conviction of Billy Bryant, who was found guilty last year in Red River County of participating in a double homicide.

Prior to Bryan’t conviction, the case had gone unsolved for 20 years.

“The multi-decades old killings that were the subject of the capital murder conviction from which Billy Ray Bryant prosecutes this appeal evoke the kind of complicated and lurid story lines which might be seen in serialized prime-time soap operas,” wrote Justice Bailey Moseley of the 6th District Court of Appeals headquartered in Texarkana...
