Red River Army Depot received $250,000 in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, better known as stimulus funds, U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, announced late Tuesday afternoon.

The funds, awarded by the Department of Defense, were given to RRAD for maintenance and infrastructure repair projects.

Hutchison offered an amendment to accelerate military construction spending, requiring the Defense Department to act on its five-year plan within three years to create jobs while finishing previously planned initiatives.
