Pittsburg man pleads guilty to fraud regarding insured horses

A Pittsburg, Texas, man who lied on an insurance claim form to collect $20,000 for a dead horse has pleaded guilty to mail fraud in federal court.

Paul Banks, 46, will appear before U.S. District Judge T. John Ward in Marshall for sentencing at a later date. Banks pleaded guilty to wrongdoing Thursday before Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham as part of a plea agreement, according to court documents.
