RED LICK, Texas—Prompted by recent tornadoes and severe storms, the Red Lick City Council addressed the need for a storm siren at its regular monthly meeting last week.

Red Lick Mayor Sheila Kegley told the council she priced two types of storm sirens. The rotational horn system amounts to $17,150 and the omni-directional system comes to about $24,870.

Kegley also said she spoke to Texarkana Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Hall, who told her that a siren stationed in Red Lick would go off about the same time as the sirens in Texarkana.
