A De Queen, Ark., woman was in stable condition Monday in a Texarkana hospital after she was allegedly beaten with a brick by her husband.

Maria Fraursto, 41, was flown by Air Evac helicopter to CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System after she was reportedly beaten by her husband, Beltazar M. Flores, 53.

She was in stable condition in the surgical intensive care unit Monday afternoon.

Flores allegedly hit his wife in the head with a brick while the couple’s 6-year-old daughter was talking to the 911 emergency services dispatcher at 10:08 a.m. Sunday.
